A Multi-Sensory Exploration of New York City's Bars Through Personal Experiences: Bridging Sensory and Social Divides Beyond Alcohol

Editorial Design, Publication Design

This project seeks to transcend the boundaries of traditional cultural exploration by offering a comprehensive and multi-sensory immersion into New York's alcohol culture through a holistic and innovative approach. At its core, the project consists of a book, a series of visual cubes, and a curated collection of alcohol-related merchandise.

The inspiration for this endeavor arises from a deeply personal experience. On certain weekends, I find myself wishing to unwind at a bar with a leisurely drink, yet many of my friends are either allergic to alcohol or uncomfortable with the bar environment. Despite my efforts to share these experiences and the nuances of the wines I’ve tasted through conversation, I yearn for a way to enable them to connect more profoundly with the memorable moments I have cherished.

The primary goal of this project is to convey the rich, multi-dimensional sensory experience of New York bars that I have personally visited, to those who, for various reasons, are unable to do so themselves. By doing so, the project explores how to provide a broader audience with an immersive encounter with wine culture—without necessitating the act of drinking itself.
